Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set

The Medication Assistance Skill Set is an accredited program for people who hold a current qualification in Aged Care and/or Home and Community Care.

Qualification:

CHCSS00070 – Assist clients with medication skill set

There are 2 Units of Competency which must be completed to achieve this Medication Skill Set:

  1. HLTAAP001 Recognise health body systems
  2. HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication

These units of competency are compiled in to the following topics:

  • Policies and Procedures
  • Infection Control Basics, Medication Basics
  • Side Effects vs Adverse Drug Reactors
  • Common Problems with Medication Use in Older People, Medication Errors and Incidences
  • Documentation, Terms and Abbreviations
  • How do Medications Work in the Body
  • Routes of Administration
  • Assisting Clients with Medications
  • Other Medication Bits
  • Environmental Hazards Relating to Medications
