Fine print first – in order for you to be eligible for the Queensland Builder Restricted Licence, you need to have completed a “suitable trade qualification” and have “at least 2 years experience” in the scope of work determined by the particular restricted licence you require. (For more information on the scope of works, check out this link – Queensland Building and Construction Commission’s (QBCC) website)
If you don’t have a trade qualification, you will need to have at least 4 years experience on-site, and also have completed a recognised program which covers the required competencies set down by the QBCC (Like this one!)
This easy to complete qualification has been put together by builders for builders to make it as quick and simple as possible by clustering the 9 required units of competency into 5 logical and easy to follow modules:
Please note: Swimming Pool Construction is no longer a restricted building licence in Queensland, however the units for the Queensland Builder Restricted Licence must still be completed for the following Trade Contractor licences:
